Fort Madhogarh

Fort Madhogarh is located in Madhogarh Village, 42 k.m away from Jaipur off the Jaipur - Agra highway (NH 11). Madhogarh-Tunga was also the site of a battle between the Kachhawaha Rajputs and the Marathas, both parties being famed for their fighting prowess. The fort has 13 rooms with fabulous view of which 10 are deluxe suite and 3 are suite types.

Fort Madhogarh was built by Madho Singh Ji nearly 400 years ago and renovated and converted into heritage hotel by Thakur Bhawani Singh Ji in July 2000. The battle started at 9 am and lasted till about one hour after sunset.

The combined Rajput army of Jaipur and Jodhpur was about 50,000 string while the Maratha army was larger, with about 80,000 solders. The Maratha army also had a professionally trained battalion under the command of the famous Maratha general, Mahadaji Scindia, was forced to abandon the battle field and leave at night.
