Shri Mahavirji Temple

Shri Mahavirji Temple Chandanpur is situated 110 km of Sawai Madhopur. The temple combines ancient and modern styles of architecture. It is raised on a huge platform and is mostly made of white marble. The chhatris (canopies) are made of sandstone. The temple has grown into a complex of religious shrines.

The main attraction here is a statue of Shantinath, a Jain Trithankar, which measures 32 ft. in height and has a majestic appearance. A big fair, held in March – April every year attracts a huge number of devotees.

The walls have been painted to depict the religious scenes and on a tower facing the temple, the footsteps of Mahavira have been consecrated. The biggest draw is the huge statue of Shantinath, which stands 32 feet high. The well-illuminated temple is a splendid sight to view at night.

Nakoda Jain Temple is 135 km from Barmer in Rajasthan. The town of Nakoda was built in the 12th or the 13th century on the slope of a hill called Nagar Ki Bhakarian. The biggest and most impressive of the Jain Temples in the town is the Parshvanath Temple.

The town of Nakoda has the only other temple of Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe according to the Hindu mythology, besides the one at Pushkar, also in Rajasthan.
